The Rekortan® Gel track delivers 58% energy return to athletes, balancing training comfort with competition-ready firmness. Made from 84% renewable and recycled materials, it replaces carbon-based oils with bio-based polyols, reducing the environmental impact. The surface retains over 95% of its force reduction over a decade and can be re-topped for extended life.

Head coach Khadevis Robinson, a TCU alum and Hall of Famer, emphasized the importance of the upgrade: “We wanted a surface soft enough for daily training but durable under Texas heat. This investment shows the administration’s commitment to track and field and to providing our athletes with top-tier facilities.”

The improved track has already hosted multiple collegiate and community competitions, receiving praise from athletes and visitors alike. Robinson notes that the facility upgrade bolsters recruiting efforts, showcasing TCU’s dedication to both athletic and academic excellence.

The upgrade directly enhances the daily training environment for current Horned Frogs. Athletes now have a safer, more responsive surface that reduces injury risk while allowing for more consistent training. The facility also serves as a recruiting asset. For prospective student-athletes evaluating programs, seeing a world-class surface signals the university’s commitment to excellence and athlete development. “When recruits visit and see this track, they know we’re serious about giving them every advantage,” Robinson said.
