The University of Georgia has completed a $45 million, two-phase renovation of Foley Field aimed at enhancing both the student-athlete experience and community engagement. Overseen by Facilities Director Tanner Stines, the project began in June 2023 and was ready for Opening Day 2025.

The design-build project was led by HKS Architects and Turner Construction, with key contributions from Jack Porter (branding), Hold Everything Lockers, Sorinex (weight room), and PSG Energy/Southern Lighting Source (sports lighting). The renovation added approximately 41,000 square feet of new space, including expanded locker rooms, a custom-built pitching lab by New Force, a new hitting facility, upgraded coaches’ offices, and a state-of-the-art players’ lounge.

“We’re two-and-a-half times larger in just player development space from hitting and pitching than what we had before,” Stines said of the new pitching lab and hitting facility.

UGA replaced its natural grass surface with field turf, increasing year-round usability and reducing weather delays. A Hawk-Eye motion capture system was installed for player tracking and biomechanics, and the pitching lab was built with more than $2.5 million in analytic infrastructure to support injury prevention and performance optimization.

“We’ve really tried to build it to make it feel like the fans have an impact on the game every single game,” Stines said.
