The Overlake School (Redmond, Washington) Head Girls Lacrosse Coach Sue Haviland says that being a teacher and coach allows her (and her co-workers) to be more in-touch with student-athletes. The bonds they form and an open line of communication allow them to accommodate and understand their athletes off the court, building more trust and cohesion.
