WABA’s Scottsdale Sirens Set Tryout Dates
The Scottsdale Sirens will be hosting pre-season tryouts for its newly founded professional women’s basketball team. The organization is scouting women basketball players ages 18 and up.The team is the latest addition to the Women’s American Basketball Association (WABA) and the first affiliated team in Arizona.
The Scottsdale Sirens are proud to offer players the opportunity to showcase her talents in front of the Sirens’ coaching staff and basketball operations personnel, the press release read.Prospects will compete to earn a WABA contract and a spot on the Sirens’ roster for the team’s first season beginning in August 2021. The tryouts will be held on Saturday, June 20, from 6:30 PM to 9 PM at Cholla Park in Glendale, Arizona. Registration is mandatory. New players are required to pay a $25 registration fee. The WABA is a women’s professional basketball league founded in 2017, by Marsha Blount, President/CEO. The WABA’s mission is to provide additional opportunities for players post-college; to provide a platform for players to extend their playing careers, and continue to chase their professional basketball dreams. Its goal is to continue to build on the successes of previous women’s professional basketball leagues.
The league consists of 25 teams from across the country — from the San Diego Sprint to the Long Island Storm to Oklahoma Tatanka.
