According to a report from The Tennessean, the task force would “study and evaluate concussions and other injuries from long-term, continued participation in sports at those levels.” It would also examine solutions for athletes who attend college on an athletic scholarship but lose the scholarship if they’re unable to continue playing due to a concussion or other injury.

The proposed task force would include representatives appointed by state high schools and colleges, including the NCAA and state athletic association. There would also be members from the department of health and state board of education, according to the article.

Proposals have been made in the state House and Senate. Each bill requires that the task force come up with recommendations by Feb. 2, 2017.
