Slaying Leads To More Precautions For San Diego-Area Runners

After the rape and murder of Chelsea King, a 17-year-old high-school student who was out running Feb. 25 in the San Diego area, local track and cross-country coaches are taking extra precautions with their athletes. Runners are being instructed to run with a partner and be more around of surroundings, and, if they can’t find someone to run with, they need to head to the gym and use a treadmill.
