The Georgia High School Association’s decision to split the public and private Class A schools into separate divisions has been on the minds of Savannah Christian administrators for the past few months.

Football coach and SCPS Athletic Director Donald Chumley tells WSAV News 3 that the school submitted all it’s reasoning for “holding off” on the split for at least another two years.  But, according to Chumley, the Executive Committe of the GHSA chose to continue with the split starting in the Fall of 2012.

Chumley also says the school was preparing to file legal action to “halt” the split.  But, after exploring all the options Savannah Christian chose to NOT file the injunction and let the future “play out”.
