Sacred Heart To Appeal Coach Suspension

Sacred Heart High School officials plan to fight a ruling made by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association to suspend the school’s baseball coach five games to start the 2011 scholastic season.

Tuesday, NJSIAA attorney Michael Herbert expressed concern regarding a portion of a handbook issued by Triantos to his players and their families focused on what’s expected of the program’s participants — specifically encouragement to play for the Vineland Vipers, a travel club team headed by Triantos that competes in the Delaware Valley Baseball Conference.
