Another week and yet another high school football player accused of misconduct on the field.

footballA Salesian High School (California) football player is accused of rubbing Icy Hot on an opponent’s face during a game last week against La Canada. Video appears to show a Salesian player stick his hand under the facemask of an opponent, and La Canada Principal Ian McFeat said his player then came to the sidelines “covered in Icy Hot.”

This is at least the fourth incident this month that has drawn negative attention to high school football. In two separate incidents, Texas prep football players went after referees during a game, and just one week ago a New Jersey football player ripped off the helmet of his opponent and struck him with it.

The latest incident out of California was captured by a cell phone camera, and that video can be viewed below. Salesian High School has yet to comment on the incident or potential actions that might be taken against the student-athlete.
