H.S. Changing Practice Policy Due To Concern About Brain Trauma
September 17, 2010 /
Northern Lehigh High School (Pa.) is looking to scale back the physical nature of football practices after Owen Thomas, a former player at the school and at the University of Pennsylvania, took his own life in April. Thomas was found to have stages of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a disease linked to depression and impulse control. Northern Lehigh coaches plan to institute measures to limit contact in practice.
