Ex-Michigan Coach Carr Stepping Down

Former Michigan head football coach Lloyd Carr will retire from his post as an athletic administrator Sept. 1, ending his 30 years of service to the university.

Carr, 64, had served as an associate athletic director for 2½ years after retiring as football coach following Michigan’s win in the 2008 Capital One Bowl. He coached the Wolverines for 13 seasons, compiling a record of 122-40 with a national championship in 1997 and five Big Ten championships.
