Debuting The National Team Sports Award Program

March 12, 2012 /
BROOKFIELD, Wis.—Coach And Athletic Director this year is honoring four of the nation’s most extraordinary athletic departments in the first Interscholastic Sports Program of Excellence.

This new project aims to recognize high school athletic programs that, through the efforts of their coaches and administrators, set the standard for integrity, sportsmanship and a positive overall experience for student-athletes.

The program recognizes two public and two private schools in various enrollment sizes. The inaugural 2012 class of recipients will be profiled as a cover story in Coach And Athletic Director and receive additional publicity through a national media campaign.

“Coach And Athletic Director’s Interscholastic Program of Excellence is a natural extension of our editors’ efforts to unearth the best-of-the-best approaches in interscholastic athletics,” says Publisher Dave Galuppo. “It’s not a program based solely on wins and losses but the total package of progressive athletic programs. It is another way to elevate the most effective and responsible approaches in high school athletic programs today, and provide best practices for others to emulate.”

Anyone can nominate a school by filling out the form at coachad.com/ExcellenceAward. All submissions are due at Coach And Athletic Director offices no later than April 30. An independent judging panel of coaches and athletic directors will select this year’s recipients.
