After being suspended for whipping basketball players with a weight belt, a Murrah basketball coach will be back on the payroll on Monday.

Coach Marlon Dorsey was caught on a cell phone camera taking a weight belt to players.

He, his assistant coach, Murrah High School’s principal and the Jackson Public school district are all the targets of a civil suit filed by several of the players’ parents.

Dorsey’s attorney told a local paper that he will return to Murrah as head basketball coach and teacher when classes start again in January.

JPS suspended Dorsey without pay in October.
