Baseball Coach Orders Pitchers To Throw At Batter, Earns Suspension

Paul Furlong, the head baseball coach at Allegany-Limestone High (N.Y.), ordered two of his pitchers to throw at a batter Wednesday in a game against Wellsville in which his team eventually lost, 20-9. Neither pitcher complied with Furlong’s request and now Furlong has been suspended indefinitely by the school pending an investigation.
