Are Non-Core Sports Being Cut To Save Money?

In just another example of how sports are being cut due to budget measures, the Tolleson Union School District (Ariz.) is cutting golf, tennis, cross country and swimming. Is cutting non-core sports (with “core” meaning football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball) happening more across the country?
