Nominate A School In The Interscholastic Sports Program Of Excellence

Coach And Athletic Director this year will honor the nation’s most extraordinary athletic departments in the second annual Interscholastic Sports Program of Excellence.

This project aims to recognize high school athletic programs that, through the efforts of their coaches and administrators, set the standard for integrity, sportsmanship and a positive overall experience for student-athletes.

Last year, Coach And Athletic Director honored four of America’s high schools in the inaugural event. The class of honorees included The Overlake School (Redmond, Wash.), Vista Murrieta High School (Murrieta, Calif.), Mary Institute And Country Day School (St. Louis, Mo.) and St. Anthony Village High School (Minneapolis, Minn.). Profiles and videos from the winners can be found here.

Award recipients receive a visit from a Coach And Athletic Director editor and are profiled in an upcoming issue. They also receive publicity through a national media campaign.

“This award is one of a kind, and we’re proud to recognize athletic departments for their achievements in their communities and in the classrooms,” says Managing Editor Kevin Hoffman. “Last year’s inaugural program was a complete success, and we hope to build on that in 2013 in recognizing a new crop of schools that are doing all they can to promote a positive experience for student-athletes.”

Anyone can nominate a school by downloading the one-page form and submitting it by the April 30, 2013, deadline. An independent judging panel of coaches and athletic directors will select this year’s recipients.
