Rider also serves as the head football coach at Blue Valley Northwest (BVNW) High School in Overland Park, Kansas. In 2016, Rider was selected as the Sports in Kansas & Kpreps.com Class 3A Football Coach of the Year after leading Hesston High School to its first state championship game in 25 years. In two years, the strength program at BVNW has grown more than 300%. Rider is married to Michelle and has a daughter, Reece.
