HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – At the beginning of the 2012 Fall semester, the University of Alabama in Huntsville Department of Athletics introduced a new program called “The True Blue Campaign” which gives student-athletes, coaches and full-time staff an opportunity to give back to the athletic foundation. The program received strong support from all UAH student-athletes, coaches, and full-time staff employees in the department.

“We truly appreciate the 100 percent participation from all full-time employees and student-athletes for their generosity with this project,” said UAH Director of Athletics Dr. E. J. Brophy. “UAH is a very special place and the 2012 True Blue Campaign further enhances that fact. It’s an honor to come to work here every day.”

The True Blue Fund will put money back in the hands of the athletic department to provide athletics with funding for scholarships, endowments, capital projects and other departmental needs, and it is an avenue for all involved in athletics at UAH to show pride in their teams, programs, and the athletic department through a financial contribution.

The department has experienced tremendous growth in recent years with projects including the new Charger Park, renovations to the locker rooms inside Spragins Hall, resurfacing of the tennis courts, a new athletic website, and a state-of-the-art film room as well as the Duke Academic Center.
