U of Wisconsin Shelves Plan For Practice Hockey Rink

The University of Wisconsin has shelved a $25 million project to build an on-campus and competition rink for the men’s and women’s hockey programs. Athletic director Barry Alvarez said the delay is occuring due to the lack of private donations. He said more than $8 million needed to be raised from outside sources before ground could be broken. The original plan was to have the rink completed by 2012.
