U. of Minnesota Plans to Build $70M Football Facility

In 2009 Minnesota began playing its football outside at TCF Bank Stadium, and now, according to a report in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Gophers are looking to keep their practices back indoors.

At least, it would if it happens. While the Star Tribune is reporting that it will, a Gopher spokesman reportedly told the Associated Press that the original report is “totally incorrect.”
Minnesota currently practices in the Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex, but the 55-foot ceilings aren’t high enough to allow the team to simulate kicks and punts under game conditions. That building was recently renovated for $1 million.
