EDENVILLE TWP. — It has been one week since Meridian High School track and cross country coach Bob Cole disappeared while searching for his dog, Joe, near the Tittabawasse River in Midland County’s Edenville Township.

Midland County Sheriff Jerry Nielsen said a search crew of about 12 people continue to scour across the Tittabawasse River Tuesday. Divers, helicopters and sonar technology have been used to find Cole.
“It was a week ago today that he was out there,” said Nielsen.
For now, there is no timetable for the search.
“We don’t have a magic number,” said Nielsen. “We continue to work…

“We are pretty confident that he is in the river; we’ve had crews pounding the grounds… it just points to the river.”
Today, crews were re-searching areas that they didn’t feel confident with in their first search. Crews have searched the river from slightly north above West Curtis Road to about a quarter of a mile north of West Baker Road.
Swanton Memorial Hall, 6460 N. Water Road, in Edenville Township is serving as the command center for the search crew and a place to gather for the community. A volunteer today said the number of community members has been lower today.
On Monday, Caroyln Bacon, a volunteer Edenville Township firefighter, said more than 100 people have made their way through the township hall.
