Texas H.S. A.D. Steps Down To Save School District Money

Jackie Stephens, the athletic director and assistant principal at Santo High School in Texas, who also serves as the football and track coach, has decided to retire in lieu of the school district’s budget problems. The Santo Independent School District was facing the possible elimination of three positions this year but with Stephens early retirement, it’s down to two. Santo Superintendent Greg Gilbert has acknowledged Stephens retired not for his sake but for that of the district.
