San Jose State Coach Piraro Wins 1,000th Game

San Jose State University baseball coach Sam Piraro won his 1,000th game Saturday with a 5-3 victory over Brigham Young University. Piraro has been with SJSU for 23 years and has amassed a record of 736-555. He also has coached at Mission College (Santa Clara, Calif.) and he served as the junior varsity coach at SJSU in the mid-1970s.
