Morehead State men’s basketball coach Sean Woods resigned today amid allegations that he physically abused players during a game last month.
Woods had already been suspended for three games following the incident, which allegedly took place during a game against Evansville. According to the Indianapolis Star, two players accused Woods of shoving them and one said that Woods backhanded him across the chest. The father of one player told ESPN that Woods head-butted his son last season.
Woods is scheduled for a hearing Feb. 9 in Evansville, Indiana. Assistant coach Preston Spradlin was named interim coach while Woods served his suspension.
