K-State coach congratulates TCU quarterback on victory

Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder watched his team cough up an 18-point halftime lead last weekend against TCU, losing the game 52-45.

Snyder reacted by sending the opposing quarterback a letter commending him on his “performance and poise” in the second-half comeback.

TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin took to Twitter today to post the card he received from Snyder. It illustrates Snyder’s class and sets a perfect example for coaches — character trumps all.

Here is Boykin’s post:

Here is the letter’s text:

“Congratulations again Trevone. Proud of you as a person and leader as well as a great player. Admire your performance and poise in bringing your team back to win our game. Wishing you continued success and good fortune. Please share my congratulations with your teammates. They were excellent in coming back in the second half. Coach Snyder.”

That’s not the typical response you see from a coach who just watched his team lose a heartbreaker, but Snyder isn’t your typical coach.
