Former Compton Dominguez Coach Otis Convicted

Russell Otis, the former Compton Dominguez High (Calif.) basketball coach who led the squad to five state basketball titles, was convicted Tuesday of misdemeanor child molesting. If the conviction stands appeal, it bars him from coahcing or teaching minors.

Otis was acquitted on felony theft and forgery charges stemming from depositing a $15, 000 check from Nike into his personal account rather than a school account.
