NEW ORLEANS — Saints superstar Drew Brees is helping a dream come true for one local high school.

Coach and teacher Brian Bordnaick has been working on the 9th Ward Field of Dreams project to create a football field, track and community space at G.W. Carver High School.

Hurricane Katrina destroyed the school and the football team has been practicing in a vacant lot.

The Brees Dream Foundation announced Monday it will contribute $100,000 to the project, providing the funding necessary to complete the project.

Officials say construction on the new complex will take six months.

The Field of Dreams project was first profiled here on WWLTV.com and in a Mike Hoss report on WWLTV in 2008.
