Coach Fired After Allowing Injured Player To Practice

Dave Renwick, head boys basketball coach at Pentwater High (Mich.), has been fired after allowing a player to practice while recovering from an injury. Renwick did not receive a medical statement from the player’s doctor confirming it was OK for him to practice. School board members and some parents claim Renwick made the player push through pain when he wasn’t ready to play.
