Normally, when the first day of official high school football practice arrives, the Gary schools are quite unorganized.

But today, West Side is going against the norm in Gary.

Second-year coach Alex Pratt won’t accept an unorganized start to the season. And he definitely won’t lack numbers.

That’s because today isn’t the first practice for his program. Other schools do that all the time. Their fields are filled throughout the summer with practices and conditioning.
