Calif. Lawmakers Want Temporary Ban On Metal Bats

A California legislative committee wants a two-year moratorium on the use of metal bats in high school baseball. This is in response to safety concerns after 16-year-old Gunnar Sandberg, a pitcher for Marin Catholic High School, was severely injured earlier this year. The bill by the committee passed the Senate Education Committee, 5-1, yesterday and now moves to the full Senate.
