Butler Interested In Joining A-10

Butler wants to join the Atlantic 10 Conference in all sports except football, according to an ESPN reportattributed to “multiple sources.”
Bulldogs athletic director Barry Collier declined comment when asked about it last week, except to say “we’ve been good partners” with the Horizon League and all colleges “are watching the ever-changing landscape.”
Conference realignment has been a major issue in college sports, with schools shifting to find long-term stability and financial advantages.
Temple is leaving the Atlantic 10 in 2013-14. It would be a step up in competition for Butler, currently a member of the Horizon League. The Atlantic 10 includes Midwestern schools Xavier, Dayton and St. Louis.
