Retiring Baseball Coach Earns 500th Victory

Fred Blumberg, head baseball at Freeburg High (Ill.) is set to retire at season’s end, but first, he achieved a milestone Monday. Blumberg’s squad completed a late-inning rally to knock off Columbia, 12-8, in the Class 2A Red Bud Regional, to earn the coach his 500th victory.
