At the 2012 WFCA, we learned about Gilman Gear’s Hands-Free Shield, which allows a free range of motion with arms and complete use of the hands and provides a more realistic and full speed defensive reaction.
Teach kids to pay attention to their bodies and their own thirst, and to “drink to thirst”—that is, drink enough water so that the thirst recedes. Rehydrate between sports events/practices.
