A Drill to Emphasize Transition Offense

Kim Barnes Arico, head women’s basketball coach at the University of Michigan, shows the audience how she practices transition offense at the 2014 Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Coaches Clinic in Lansing, Michigan.

Note: Have your 4s and 5s start under the basket.Your guards are broken up into two groups on either side of the floor. The guards lined up on the ride side of the court (short outlet) get one dribble and guards lined up on the left side of the court (long outlet) get none. If a layup is missed or the ball hits the floor, sprints are ran.
