Indiana freshman basketball players Peter Jurkin and Hanny Mosquera-Perea have been suspended by the NCAA nine games apiece for receiving improper benefits, the school announced Tuesday.

The rule centered around money the players reportedly received from their AAU coach, Mark Adams. The players will be asked to repay the money in donations to charity, but Indiana appealed the length of the suspensions.

As it stands, Jurkin and Mosquera-Perea will not play until Dec. 15 against Butler.

The NCAA investigation lasted 18 months and centered around Adams, coach of the Indiana Elite AAU team. At dispute was Adams’ involvement with Mosquera-Perea, whether he was allowed to be the player’s guardian and if he was considered a booster since he donated to the school six years ago.
