Massachusetts to Hold NFL-Style HS Football Combine

An NFL-style training combine is coming back to the Bay State this month.

The Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association has partnered with HardKore Athletic Performance of Rockland to stage its annual Athletic Combine at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood on June 26.

The Combine is open to all Massachusetts high school football players. Registered athletes will be assigned a starting time and complete the 40-yard dash, 3-cone drill, 5-10-5 shuttle run, vertical jump, and broad jump using Zybek laser measurements and timing. Each athlete will also have his picture taken and height, weight, and reach recorded.

The typical fall football season was postponed this past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) held a shortened football season in March, called “Fall II.”

While many coaches and players—particularly the seniors—were grateful to play some semblance of a football season, most approached the shortened schedule as a college football “spring-ball” season as preparation for a hopeful return to a normal fall season with postseason play.

More information and the registration link can be found at www.MHSFCA.net.

A percentage of the $60 registration fee will be donated to the Shriner’s Hospital of Boston Transportation Fund. Athletes will also receive an MHSFCA Combine T-shirt while supplies last.

HardKore is the first SAT testing center in the country partnered with Zybek Sports. Zybek Sports has run the NFL Combine for the past 10 years and has run the Olympic training center.
