H.S. Field Hockey Adopts ’Self-Start’ Rule

The National Federation of State High School Associations has adopted the “self-start” rule for the upcoming field hockey season, meaning players can immediately advance the ball through dribble or self pass for 16-yard hits, side-ins, free hits, long hits and all free hits awarded outside the 25-yard area.
