Howard Avery, a powerful private basketball coach in Oregon City, Ore., has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicting last week of felony sex abuse of a 17-year-old player. Avery, 52, worked privately with players with the goal of obtaining college scholarships through basketball.
