Jimmy Williams Awarded $1.2 Million In Lawsuit Against Tubby Smith

Jimmy Williams, a former Oklahoma State men’s basketball assistant, has been awarded $1.2 million by a jury after Williams sued Minnesota head coach Tubby Smith. Williams alleged that he was promised a job by Smith in 2007 and that he quit his position at Oklahoma State to take the job with the Gophers. Williams then was not hired when the University of Minnesota found NCAA recruiting violations in Williams’ past.
