Mizzou Launches Innovative Ticket Sales Opportunity For Student-Athletes

The outbound ticket sales staff for the University of Missouri Department of Athletics just increased in size exponentially thanks to an innovative sales initiative that will benefit all MU students as well as enhance the home gameday atmosphere for all Mizzou sporting events.

Every University of Missouri student, including student-athletes, will have the opportunity to earn money for selling single-game tickets to Mizzou Athletics events under a first-of-its-kind program launched Friday.

mizzouThis pilot sales effort will provide students who sign up to participate with a unique link to an online platform that can be shared via social media, email, or text message with prospective ticket buyers. Participating students will receive a 20% commission for any ticket single-game ticket sold for all ticketed athletics sports, including baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, football, gymnastics, softball, volleyball, and wrestling.

Mizzou is the first school in the nation to provide this opportunity for its student body.

“Our students are great ambassadors for Mizzou,” Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois said. “We look forward to piloting this entrepreneurial opportunity and extending the reach of our sales team. The energy created when our venues are packed is contagious and we are always looking for ways to help our student-athletes and provide that great gameday experience at all of our home contests.”

“The opportunity to partner with Mizzou student-athletes and the overall student body to sell single-game tickets is a game-changer,” Senior Associate AD/Chief Revenue Office Greg Hulen said. “This provides the chance for our students to gain real-world sales experience while helping enhance our gameday atmosphere.”

Students can fill out an online form or visit MUTigers.com/Sell4Mizzou to begin the process of joining the ticket sales team. Enrollment as a current Mizzou student will need to be confirmed.

The Tigers kick off the 2022 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. CT against Louisiana Tech inside Faurot Field. Tickets for Mizzou’s first night game since 2019 are available by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS or by visiting MUTigers.com.
