The DEFINITE DOZEN©: Change is a must

{Sponsored} Championship coach Pat Summitt created a profound model for principles of success and leadership in sport and life called the DEFINITE  DOZEN©.

CHANGE IS A MUST

Change is the only thing we can all count on. It’s the way we handle change that will define our future. We need to adapt to it, accept it, and move forward. Simply put, change is a force of nature. It’s impossible to grow if you never change. The willingness to change allows you to turn a weakness into a strength.

Pat Summitt knew that it was impossible to win the national championship if she didn’t change. But it wasn’t going to do any good if only she changed. She had to
inspire, motivate and teach her players and assistants to change. And she knew that in order to repeat that feat, she would have to change again. And again. And again.

Change is a must. Once we accept that change will always be inevitable, we can better understand how to handle it.

As Pat Summitt would say, “As badly as I wanted to become someone new, I resisted saying it aloud. I viewed it as a sign of weakness if I had changed. Today, if someone tells me that I’ve changed, I take it as a compliment.”
