Football programs looking to upgrade their equipment might want to consider applying for a USA Football grant.

USA FootballYouth, middle school and high school football programs can apply now through May 31. Grants are based on need, merit and a program’s commitment to coaching education and best practices, according to a news release from USA Football.

Grants can be redeemed through Riddell, the official helmet and protective equipment partner of USA Football. They range from $500 to $1,500 for youth organizations and $1,000 to $2,500 for high school programs. Schools can use them to purchase equipment, uniforms or reconditioning.

Since 2006, USA Football has awarded more than $7 million in equipment to school and youth football programs.

“Our equipment grants help youth leagues and scholastic programs continue to make positive differences in young people’s lives through America’s favorite sport,” USA Football Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck said. “Even with successful fundraisers and responsible adherence to budgets, some organizations may find challenges in properly equipping their teams. We’re proud to help create great football experiences with support from the NFL Foundation.”
