A Pennsylvania high school basketball coach has been suspended after going into the stands during a game to confront a boisterous fan.

Strong Vincent High School girls basketball coach Paul Przepierski, who teaches at a separate school, was leading his team against Warren High School on Monday. With less than two minutes remaining in the game, Przepierski went into the stands to confront a spectator who witnesses said had yelled at the coach during the game, according to YourErie.com

The game had been stopped at the time of the incident for an injured player. The article notes that players and the Warren athletic director broke up the altercation.

“Apparently it was an incident between a coach and a spectator,” Erie Schools spokesperson Daria Devlin told YourErie.com. “The coach has been suspended — paid suspension — pending investigation. Obviously, we take this sort of thing very seriously and the coach will remain suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.”
